Over the years, colleagues and I have laughed over my use of analogies. 

One analogy that I have repeatedly used is that the creation of a logo and brand are like preparing a good chili. You start with the basic understanding of what you want in it, but it continues to build on itself. Ingredients vary, different flavors emerge and your own personal touch defines your culinary creation. A good chili takes time to cook and gets more complex the longer it simmers. Only after hours of stepping away, tasting, revisiting the pot and working on it does it reach its full potential.
